- The lecturer Muna Ghazi Abdul-Saheb from the Department of Computer Sciences got her scientific promotion from the assistant lecturer degree to lecturer degree from the date of submission of the promotion research on 2/9/2018 and based onthe eighth meeting of the Committee of the university for scientific advancement which was held on 14/5/2019 for the academic year 2018 accompanied by the approval of the President of the University.

- On Thursday, 18/4/2019, the Department of Computer Sciences visited the Baghdad Center for Renewable and Sustainable Energy at the Baghdad International Fair to learn about the Center's work and the latest achievements in the field of renewable and sustainable energies. The center is the result of a community initiative for a group of businessmen. Founded five years ago and is the first in the Middle East and Iraq in the field of renewable and sustainable energy, the Center works on the solar energy system and is considered a supporter of the Ministry of Electricity and works for the following:

  1. Recycling organic waste.
  2. How to take advantage of solar energy in the production of electric power.
  3. Create a clean environment.

- The volunteer team of the Department of Computer Sciences visited the Medicine City Hospital / Child Protection Education Hospital / Department of Oncology on Thursday 9/5/2019 to provide psychological and material support to sick children under the direct supervision of the Head of Computer Sciences Department. Dr. Hala Bhajat Abdul Wahab. On this visit, the volunteer team met with Dr. Amer Fadel, the specialist in charge of the department to identify cases of children and their needs. It is worth mentioning that this visit is added to the series of visits that the Department of Computer Sciences made during the current academic year 2018-2019.

- The President of the University of Technology congratulated Dr. Mohamed Ghani Alwan from the computer sciences department for his PhD degree to be a good start and a blessing to achieve outstanding scientific achievements on the path of serving Iraq with wishes to achieve all the progress and success.
