- The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral thesis Localization Of Strangeness From Crowded Video Scenes Using 3D Convolutional Neural Network And Hybrid Descriptors Algorithm For the student (Ali Abd Hussein Aziz), Computer Science/General, today, Tuesday, 10/31/2023, in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building. The thesis aims to use technology to identify moving elements in video scenes and determine whether the scenes are crowded or not based on the quantity of those things by looking at various human actions to enhance the ability and accuracy in distinguishing between human activity and video strangeness. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Mathil Emad Al-Din Abdel Moneim as Chairman, and Prof. Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdel Wahab, M.D., as a member. - The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral thesis Link Analysis In Web Information Retrieval Using Pattern Mining For the student (Israa Qassem Nimah), Computer Science/General, today, Monday, 10/30/2023, in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department Annex building. The thesis aims to enhance the understanding of web information retrieval (IR) by taking advantage of three components: first, text content analysis, second, hyperlink analysis, and third, user log file analysis, in order to achieve a more accurate and effective classification of web pages, which leads to more accurate results. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Diaa Abdel Hussein Jumaa as Chairman, and Prof. Dr. Shaima Hamid Shaker, Prof. Dr. Rehab Falih Hassan, Prof. Israa Tahseen Ali, and Prof. Rahim Abdel-Saheb Okla as members. - The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral thesis A proposed Data Analytics Service Based on Intelligent Algorthim Via Blockchain Behavior In Cloud computing For the doctoral student (Safa Sami Abdel-Jabbar), Computer Science/General, in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building today, Monday, 10/30/2023. The thesis aims to design a comprehensive system that uses data analysis in cloud systems to address this problem effectively and easily based on Blockchain behavior. - As part of the ongoing maintenance campaign being witnessed by the Computer Science Department under the guidance of the Department Head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, and under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, the rehabilitation of the internal information roof floor has been completed in preparation for the winter season.

- The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division in the Computer Science Department participated in a workshop on performance evaluation, which was held by the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University of Technology in the Control Engineering and Information Systems Department on Thursday, 10-26-2023, in the presence of a number of representatives of the Quality Division at the university. The workshop coincided with the launch of the paper-based performance evaluation, as the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, Professor Dr. Zainab Nasser Jameel, and the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department in the Civil Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Majeed Khudair, explained some of the vocabulary related to the performance evaluation form and answered the questions raised by Before attending. The effective participation of the Computer Science Department was represented by the Division Director, Eng. Nada Najeel Kamal and Division Member Eng. R.Engineers Dalia Tariq Khudair.
