Department of Computer Sciences held a meeting of its General Assembly

The first meeting of the General Assembly for the academic year 2017-2018 was held in the Department of Computer Sciences on Wednesday 29/11/2017. The meeting was attended by the Head of Computer Sciences Department. Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdul Wahab and the Scientific Assistant. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan and the Administrative Assistant Dr. Ayad Roudan Abbas and faculty members, the meeting began with the Department's presidency celebration of the birth of our Prophet by distributing candy for the occasion, the meeting discussed the following topics:

determine the study plan for this year, thanks and appreciation was given by the head of the department to all members of the faculty for their outstanding efforts, especially the heads of the branches who left their positions and continue to give.
The department's conference to be held in April. Approvals were obtained. The conference works to be published in the Journal of the University of Technology as it is a solid journal. The head of the department urged the staff to work towards the completion of researches and the need to publish it.
The Courses system for the first and second levels and exam timings.
Praise the efforts of the staff of the department who obtained the first positions in the ministerial examinations.
Emphasis on scientific research and the need to commit to the specific speciality and according to the instructions and praised the Graduate Studies Committee and for their performance.
Preparing for the quarterly exams for the third and fourth stages of the annual system.
Re-reviewing the curriculum by the sub-scientific committees to be applied for one year and returned.
Emphasis on the rigor of the lectures and the importance of students' homework.
The necessity to use the virtual library and the registration of all students of the primary and graduate studies.
Rationalization of electricity consumption.
Commending the electronic archiving systems in the department in the various fields.

Discussion of the doctoral dissertation of the student Shaima Akram Hassan

The student Shaimaa Akram Hassan received her PhD from Computer Sciences Department at the University of Technology for her thesis (a model to ensure the protection of data storage in the center of cloud computing) on Sunday, 3/12/2017 in the discussion hall in the Department of Computer Sciences. The discussion committee consisted of (Prof. Dr. Abdel-Moneim Saleh Rahma, Dr. Sokaina Hassan Hashim, Dr. Yosra Hussein Ali, and Dr. Alaa' Kadhum Farhan) from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology, Dr. Qassim Mohammed Hassan from Tikrit University / Computer Science Department, Dr. Mahmoud Khalil Ibrahim from Al Nahrain University / Information Engineering.

The Department held a workshop for students to solve the problems of installing Oracle on modern systems

The Laboratory Division of the Department of Computer Sciences held a workshop on Thursday, 23-11-2017 for students of the third and fourth levels of the software and information systems branches and the network management branch who study the databases in both practical and theoretical subjects. The workshop titled "How to install oracle 10g on windows 10" presented three solutions to the problem of installing and running Oracle 10g Developer on modern browsers in Windows 7, 8 and 10 operating systems. The workshop aimed to enhance the cooperation among students and spread the information they received during the workshop, which they participated in effectively.

The workshop was conducted under the direct supervision of the laboratory director. Wissam Ali Mahmoud. This workshop was prepared and presented by Lect. Asst. Nada Najil Kamal - Head of the Oracle Laboratory. During the workshop, a guidebook for students was prepared by participants. Lect. Asst. Nour Haidar Abdul-Amir - Director of Documentation and Alumni Division, Computer Science Department, Lect. Asst. Mohammed Sabah Rashid from the Information Technology Center.
