- Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, and under the supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, in cooperation with the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, and in the presence of the advisors, department heads, teachers, and students from various Iraqi universities, and based on the principle of cooperation with state institutions, the Computer Science Department organized the symposium tagged “Cybersecurity and its impact on national security” in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building today, Tuesday, 11/14/2023. The session was opened by the head of the department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, with a welcoming speech to the attendees, in which he stated that the Computer Science Department is honored to cooperate with the most important state institution, which is the National Security Advisory, as it is no secret to everyone that the process of data exchange has become one of the important things in the arena, so it has become modern trends. To hold joint seminars between state institutions and the academic sector. The head of the department decided to choose cooperation between it and the National Security Advisory, as they are specialists in the applied field and the department is specialized in the academic field. The concept of cybersecurity is not a product of the moment, but rather a collection of previous visions in preserving data and networks. The symposium included four lectures in which the Computer Science Department participated, with two lectures. The first was given by the lecturer in the Computer Security and Cybersecurity Branch in the department, Professor Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdel Wahab, and the second lecture was given by the head of the branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Iyad Hazem Ibrahim.
