- The student (Ola Bassil Abdel Wahab) received her master's degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for her thesis (monitoring the Internet activities of smart devices) The purpose of this proposed system is to monitor children and other users of smart phones and protect them from the dangers of certain Internet activities that may have psychological or educational effects on them. The proposed system is designed to monitor websites visited by the virtual browser installed on smartphones The user (VC) as well as the geographical location of that child / users as well as monitoring more than one user at the same time and distinguish them by knowing the IP address of the user's smartphones. This system also shows the location on the map in an app installed on the smartphone of the administrator to help the administrator discover the location of the VC geographically and digitally. The discussion committee was composed of Prof. Abdel Moneim Saleh Rahma and Dr. Abeer Tariq Mawled (from the University of Technology / Computer Sciences Department), Dr. Ahmed Hashim Mohammed, from Al Mustansiriya University, College of Education, Department of Computer Science, in the presence of the student supervisor (Dr. Rehab Fleih Hassan).

- the student Ayat Farouk obtained her master's degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for her thesis entitled "Human Skin Color Detection using Machine Learning Techniques" The discovery of the color of human skin is one of the most important techniques in image processing and is widely used in many Applications such as face detection, manual detection and human presence detection. However, there are problems affected by the color of the skin due to different lighting, different races of people, camera specifications, characteristics of individuals. Many researchers have tried to solve skin color problems by applying clear rules based on specific ranges of skin tone. Although it is fast and easy to implement, it fails to provide enough information to identify all human skin tones. Face and hand detection is used in a wide range of applications such as human-computer interaction and biometric measurements. There are many image-based techniques that are effective at detecting the face, such as eigen-faces and neural networks. It was on Wednesday 12/12/2018 and on the discussion room in the building of the department. The discussion committee was composed of (Dr. Alia Karim Abdel-Hassan and Dr. Abdel-Amir Abdullah Karim) from the University of Technology / Department Computer Sciences and Dr. Khalid Ali Hussein from Al Mustansiriya University / Faculty of Education / Computer Science Department in the presence of the student supervisor (Dr. Ayad Roudan Abbas).

- Tabarak Zaki Karaji received her master's degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for her thesis (Secure Protocol for Iris Identification ), where identification of the vital identity is one of the safest processes in many security applications. Which have been improved to verify identity because of their great importance in the protection of personnel systems, society and public security because they have an important role in verification and identification to contribute to a safe and comfortable environment. The aim of the work is to use the system of authentication by the system of identification of the iris in addition to reducing or preventing attacks on the system. The proposed workflow begins by detecting the noise zone and dividing the image of the iris using image processing rather than using classical methods to more precisely identify and normalize the image of the iris extracted to a fixed size. The irradiation features were extracted from the PCA, which is the most well-known and most effective technique, using euclidean distance in the matching phase to measure distance between features. In the proposed iris identification system, we use the MMU data set and the total CASIA-Iris-Syn data, where the recognition accuracy is 97.82% for MMU and 90% for CASIA-Iris-Syn. It was on Sunday, 2/12/2018, and on the discussion room in the building of the department. The discussion committee was composed of Prof. Dr. Abdel Moneim Saleh Rahma and Dr. Yusra Hussein Ali from the University of Technology / Computer Sciences Department, Dr. Jain Jalil Asteifan from the University of Information Technology and Communications in the presence of the student supervisor (Dr. Shaima Hamid Shaker).
