- The Director of the Information Technology Division, Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Natiq Fadhil, and the Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, Lecturer Nada Najil Kamal, attended the workshop titled "Quality of Websites". The workshop was organized by the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance in collaboration with the Information Technology Center to highlight the quality requirements of websites through forms, guides, and according to the directives issued by the Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs. Members responsible for the electronic sites in various departments and centers of the university, as well as quality managers from the Department of Civil Engineering, attended the workshop. It took place at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, 6-3-2024, and provided an opportunity for raising questions and discussing the topic.

- Under the patronage of the President of the Technological University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghabban, and supervised by the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, as part of the department's activities for the second semester, the Department of Computer Science organized a workshop titled "Green AI". The workshop was conducted by Professor Dr. Hanaa Mohsen Ahmed and Lecturer Dr. Nada Hussein on Monday, 2024/3/4, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science Department annex building. It was attended by the Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Abeer Tariq Mawlood, the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, faculty members, and students of the department. The workshop covered technologies, algorithms, programs, and systems related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) that help achieve sustainable development goals. It introduced the concept of Green AI, which aims to reduce energy use and thermal emissions. Among its most important applications is its use in agriculture to distribute water and improve fertilizers for sustainable farming. It can also be used in the automation of recycling and waste management to become automatic and is involved in traffic and circuits management. The benefits of Green AI include reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Sustainable practices adjust the use of the circular economy, which has recently emerged, improving efficiency and sustainability. At the conclusion, the lecturers were awarded certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts in delivering the lecture.

- The Head of the Department of Computer Science, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, attended the opening of the 56th session of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities on Monday, 2024/3/4, at the University of Baghdad (Al-Shaheed Al-Hakim Hall), sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Honorable Minister Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi. The event was attended by deputy ministers, university presidents, deans, general directors, representatives of the teaching staff, and Arab and Iraqi academics to enhance academic cooperation and exchange experiences to elevate our universities towards a brighter future, support research, utilize technology, address the repercussions of financial resources to advance the educational process, and provide a fertile environment for the enlightened minds.

- The Department of Computer Science discussed the PhD dissertation titled "Intelligent Surveillance System for Abnormal Human Behavior Detection Using Deep Learning and Data Encryption" by PhD student Sabah Abdulaziz Jaber in Computer Science / General on Thursday, 2024/2/29, in the late Dr. Imad Kazim hall in the Computer Science Department building. The dissertation aims to design a system capable of detecting abnormal human behaviors in surveillance cameras using deep learning models by proposing new frameworks and methodologies based on deep learning principles to provide practical solutions to challenges such as generalization and model integration to enhance automated surveillance systems. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Tariq Sadiq as chair and members Prof. Dr. Abdul Amir Abdullah Karim, Prof. Dr. Bashar Maki Neama, Prof. Dr. Iqbas Azaldeen Ali, Assistant Prof. Dr. Husayn Samir Abdullah, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ali Hussein as a member and supervisor, and Prof. Dr. Haider Kazim Hamoud as a member and supervisor.
