The Department of Computer Science appreciates the efforts of student Muhaimen Ahmad Katouf from the Computer and Cybersecurity branch, second year, for preparing a booklet on Linux fundamentals in cybersecurity, under the supervision of the branch head, Assistant Professor Dr. Iyad Hazem Ibrahim. Additionally, student Mohammad Khudair Khairallah, second year from the Artificial Intelligence branch, completed the design and review of the book under the supervision of the branch head, Dr. Mustafa Jasim. The first edition of the book was presented to the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, who expressed his pride and appreciation for the students' accomplishment during their meeting in his office on Monday, 2024/3/18, in the presence of the scientific deputy, Professor Dr. Abeer Tariq Maulood, the head of the Computer and Cybersecurity branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayad Hazem Ibrahim, and the head of the Artificial Intelligence branch, Dr. Mustafa Jasim. He encouraged them to continue with research projects and offered support. It's noteworthy that the booklet produced by the department's students was a collaborative effort with students from Al-Isra University.

A faculty member from the Department of Computer Science, Professor Dr. Eyad Rawdan Abbas, participated as a member of the doctoral thesis defense committee for the student (Dhulfiqar Hakim Daif) from the Department of Production and Metals Engineering, specializing in Industrial Engineering. The thesis is titled "Developing GT Approach Adopting Multi-Criteria Job Sequence in Multi Product Lines." The defense took place on Wednesday, 2024/3/13, in the late Professor Dr. Ibrahim Mahmoud Mansour hall.

In accordance with the decisions of the Central Committee for Scientific Promotions for the academic year 2023-2024, and with the approval of the University President, due to fulfilling all the requirements for scientific promotion, it has been decided to promote Assistant Lecturer Osama Younis Fadel to the rank of Lecturer.

We attach to you the participation of the student Abdul Qudos Hamed Musleh in the activity: The Launchpad Program: This program assists individuals who own projects that are still under development, small projects, or medium-sized enterprises in the job market to launch or develop their projects to advanced stages. It offers intensive training for a duration of 3 months for project owners. The training is conducted by experts and specialists in the Iraqi market, its analyses, and administrative regulations. This program is implemented by Compotec company, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and supported by the U.S. Embassy in Iraq.
