Baghdad, Iraq – October 9, 2024 The results of the THE World University Rankings 2025 were announced, with the University of Technology achieving a remarkable milestone by securing first place locally among Iraqi universities for the second consecutive year out of a total of 18 ranked institutions. On the global stage, the University of Technology was placed within the (1001–1200) range out of 2,092 universities worldwide included in the rankings. The THE World University Rankings are based on a range of academic criteria, including teaching, research, international reputation, and other key metrics. This ranking is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and reliable benchmarks for assessing university performance globally. On this occasion, the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating that it reflects the university’s distinguished academic level and strengthens its standing among global universities. He emphasized that this ranking is the result of continuous efforts by faculty and students in both education and research. It also highlights the university’s commitment to fostering an advanced educational environment that keeps pace with global developments across various disciplines. Al-Ghaban added, "The 2025 Times ranking is a significant milestone in the University of Technology's journey towards global recognition.
