The Computer Sciences Department at the University of Technology was established in 1983 with a number of students and the teachers brought together by the spirit of belonging to this specialty, which was new to the world. The products and the hallmarks of this department was distinct and large as we see now, wherever we went in the local and Arab universities and even the world.

The working group in this department is committed to make every effort to achieve accreditation and quality assurance standards in the light of available resources; to the faculty member and academic for his roles in the creative teaching, scientific research, and community service in the best possible image and optimal investment of available resources.

As we will seek by God's will and ability and with the support of the President of the University of Technology to develop students scientifically and socially, culturally, and the development of national awareness, and raise their competitiveness in the labor market through the integration of systematic activity and the non-systematic activity.

The success that we look forward to it stems from a commitment to the values of collaboration and innovation, teamwork, and leadership, and openness to the outside world, in an environment of mutual respect and good manners. Hence, the role of teaching and administrative staff in the department , in the provision of appropriate educational environment, which encourages students to excel and creativity, initiative, and to contribute to community service, and rehabilitation to become future leaders and pioneers of development, with emphasis on cooperation, because it is the secret of our success, which we derive our conviction that the university Technology will bring a lot of accomplishments that make them at the forefront of excellent universities on Iraq and in the world level.

That responsibility which rests with our students that is to activate their role in the building of our beloved country, we must persevere and cooperation, and to contribute to innovation, to provide the initiative and proposal, including supporting the development process and enhance the university's place in local and international forums . In spite of the rapid development of the University of Technology, But that will not hold the university about investing all means and possibilities for the development of scientific and cognitive abilities of our students, and to support their activities, and prepare them in line with labor market needs, in addition to working on the development of skills and abilities, and investment to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development.
