The Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology was established in 1983 and is currently considered one of the major scientific departments and among the departments that contribute greatly to enhancing and enriching the university’s position locally, regionally and internationally. For nearly three decades, the department was and still is the main source for computer science specialists in all its branches, namely: Software , information system , artificial intelligence, computer security, network management, and multimedia. The department owns a group of faculty members with high scientific and practical teaching experience.

The work team in this department is committed to making efforts to achieve quality standards and academic accreditation in light of the available capabilities so that the faculty member can fulfill his academic roles in creative teaching, scientific research and community service in the best possible way and by making an optimal investment of available scientific resources.
