- The head of the Department of Computer Science, Professor Alaa Kazem Farhan, attended the workshop titled "Analysis of Scientific Research Indicators for Iraqi Universities and Their Impact on the QS Subject Rankings 2024." This workshop was organized by the office of the Deputy Minister for Scientific Research on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Al-Hakim Hall at Baghdad University, with the presence of university vice presidents for scientific affairs and deans of colleges.

- The Department of Computer Science organized an educational workshop for fourth-year students titled "The Concept of Electronic Plagiarism and How to Avoid High Plagiarism Rates." The event took place on Wednesday, 2024/4/17, in the late Dr. Imad Kazem Hall. The workshop included a detailed explanation about the plagiarism detection software used and the acceptable plagiarism percentages for the final year projects. The workshop was conducted by the department's Electronic Plagiarism Committee, chaired by the Scientific Associate, Dr. Abir Tariq Mouloud, with members Dr. Eyad Rawdhan Abbas and Associate Professor Asia Ali Salman. During the meeting, an initiative was discussed for third and fourth-year students to participate in courses held by the authority in preparation for their appointment in the Popular Mobilization Forces, in addition to employing a number of department graduates as information technologists.
