Discussing the doctoral dissertation of Najlaa' Abdel-Hamza

- The student Najlaa' Abdul Hamza received her doctorate from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for her thesis entitled "3D Face Reconstruction Method for Unconstrained Images" This thesis focuses on reconstructing three-dimensional faces from a series of two-dimensional images, In the position, lighting or point of view and to obtain a precise three-dimensional model matches the two-dimensional characteristics, in this thesis was proposed a new way to reconstruct the three-dimensional faces by incorporating the reconstruction algorithm (reconstruction scattered) with a general model to get Intensive building (final three-dimensional model). We get the three-dimensional dots scattered from a series of faces using the improved motion structure algorithm. We obtain the intensive final reconstruction (the 3D model of the faces) by combining the scattered face points and the general model using the updated matching algorithm for the optimization process to reduce the difference between the input images and the resulting model.

This was on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the discussion hall in the building of the department. The committee of the discussion was composed of (Dr. Matheel Emad El-Din Abdel Moneim, Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Gaber Abdelhossein, from the University of Technology / Computer Sciences Department and Dr. Ghassan Abdul Hamid Abdul Majeed from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Research and Development Department and Dr. Abbas Hassan Hanoun from the University of Basrah / Faculty of Information Technology and Dr. Mohamed Saheb Mehdi (from Al Nahrain University / Faculty of Science / Department of Computer Science in the presence of the supervisor of the student (Dr. Shaimaa' Hamid Shaker).
